You are looking at a solid, largely original, vintage Chevy with great period correct accessories, a bullet proof drive-train and ready to conquer any road anywhere. The last owner had the car for about 13 years. The body tag & vin decode to a 1960 Impala V8 sedan (body style 60-1819) Built in Atlanta, GA with trim color Blue and exterior in Ermine white and Horizon Blue. Information for the accessory codes is limited, it is an original A/C car that appears to have the plumbing intact but the compressor is missing, has a power seat that is not operating, has power steering - but not rakes which are 4 wheel drum, and looks to have been an original automatic equipped car, which would have been a 2 speed power glide. The original V8 most likely was the 283. The car now has a 350 V8 with Edelbrock carb, GM performance intake, headers with dual exhaust and HEI distributor. The powerglide has been replaced by 3 spd 350 Turbo-Hydramatic that was rebuilt about 2 years ago. The motor is strong and transmission works great, no smoke or engine noise and solid shifts. Cooling system was also upgraded with an aluminum radiator and the car runs cool- even in Arizona Summer. All glass is good. Windshield was replaced with new about 4 years ago, and rear glass sports the original “AC equipped” sticker. Chrome is in good condition with some nicks and dents here and there. Heater core has been disconnected and blower is not operational. Lights works with exception of reverse lights, wipers work, original radio is supposedly operational but not hooked up to speaker. Aftermarket AM/FM CD player in glove box has 4 speaker system. Speedometer is not operational, looks like it's doing 100 mph standing still . |
